Since its inauguration in May 1984, Pukyong National University Museum has collected, researched and exhibited various materials mainly on archeology, history, culture, folklore, fisheries and marine sectors in order to deliver proper perception of our history to students, faculty, as well as the general public. Furthermore, it serves its role as an institution of social education that enables better understanding of cultural heritage and succession of local culture.

In addition, we have endeavored to foster and improve the museum as the center of cultural research. Accordingly, we have secured academic research materials by conducting excavations of the ancient ruins in the Busan and Gyeongnam area, and contributed to the understanding of ancient cultures. Further to this, we permanently showcase folk and fisheries materials to broaden understanding of the local culture.
